"Offer New Contract" option is missing

One of my players is 19 years old and he has one and a half years of contract left.But I am unable to renew his contract because the "Offer New Contract" option is missing.(see the first column).For the other players it is not missing.(see the second column)

Players are able to discuss a contract with other clubs when less than 6 months have left before their contract expires

well i find its not there when its a youth player and hes already agreed a pre contract deal and it will appear when he signs a full contract

look at his transfer screen and see if hes due to sign a contract

Yeah I was thinking this too. It look's like he might have already signed or agreed to sign a pre-contract agreement with another team. It sucks to lose players like this. But the one good thing is if he's any good at all you'll most likely get some money for him.

I've seen plenty of players retire at a young age. Albeit when they aren't currently contracted to a club.
