I am playing the MLS league with New York Red Bulls. Why cant I find the "Offer to Clubs" option in Players' Profile? :@

MLS transfer policy is completely different to the rest of the world, everything goes through the equivalent to the FA so technically you can't offer to clubs. Don't know the ins and outs but look it up if you feel necessary.

On that point, does anyone else think that it is alot more difficult to sell players via offer to clubs this year?

Thanks for the quick response, but that rule even apply to Designated Player? Can we sell a player though?

I'm really not too sure mate, never took an interest to American footy, the waiver thing confuses the **** out of me, signed a couple of good players because of it though. Try get Arturo Alvarez.

You cannot offer a player to a club because technically all the clubs pay part of each players' salary. The only exception to this rule is the DP. Unfortunately you cannot offer players to a club but the exchange of players is a lot easier because of this. Pretty much offering a players of equal or slightly lesser value plus a late draft allocation or International roster spot, because there is a limit to how many you can have on your squad, can get the deal done. If your team plays well from March to June, you can guarantee there will be interest in some of your players who you can sell for a decent profit.

Looks like we have an expert!

Thanks guys. that means that the only way to offload those bench players is to mutually terminate their contracts then :( right?

Definitely. It seems to cause disruptions within the squad, too, which is bad.

I think you have to auction your players off i think, i'm not too sure :) best guess :)

Just a thought guys if u dont like this transfer policy then use the data editor to remove this it might be interesting changing the transfer rules so its like the rest of the world and maybe it would be better on squad morale

I you terminate the contract after the Waiver Draft, the draft in the preseason for players who were not registered, then the player has to clear waiver. Waivers is the process in which in a predetermined order, usually worst to best record from the year before, teams can 'claim' a player and have the right to offer him a contract. If a player gets claimed you are no longer on the hook for his contract. However, if he clears waivers, or if you terminate someone's contract after the July 1st, or some date around that time, you still have to pay the player for the remainder of the contract. A good way of getting rid of players who you cannot work an exchange deal for is to not register them and allow them to go to the Waiver draft as you are not responsible for their contract regardless.
