Olympiakos is the most successful club in Greek football history, having won 40 Greek League titles, 26 Greek Cups, 15 Doubles and 3 Greek Super Cups, for a total of 69 national titles – all records. Olympiakos' dominating success is further signified by the fact that all the other Greek clubs have won a combined total of 37 League titles.

It is one of three clubs to have never been relegated from the top flight of Greek football; in European competitions, they have reached the quarter-finals twice, in the 1998–99 UEFA Champions League and the 1992–93 European Cup Winners' Cup. Olympiakos is also one of the founding members of the European Club Association.

The Aim

As a proud Greek my aim is to continue the domestic dominance of Olympiakos and also make a mark on the international scene as well. Olympiakos currently has more than half the team as foreign players so I would like to have more Greek players feature in the squad. Along the way I would like to produce a number of Greek players and have them perform on the national team. I will not control the Greek National Team however.

  1. [*=center]Continue domestic dominance (winning the Superleague, Greek Cup, Greek Super Cup)
[*=center]Sign Greek players for the first-team as well as youth teams
[*=center]Eventually attempt to have a squad that is more than 50% Greek
[*=center]Make the UEFA Champions League every season
[*=center]Eventually win the UEFA Champion's League

We've had a great run of form the past 2 months. Starting with a few draws against Paris Saint Germain and Middlesbrough we went on a 6 game win streak, 3 of which were in the Greek Superleague. Also noted is that 5 of the 6 games were played away from home.

Our latest signing Georgios Samaras has already bagged two goals, one coming in a friendly and the other coming against Xanthi in the Greek Superleague.

Top performances from our captain Avraam Papadopoulos, our man in the middle Alejandro Dominguez and one of the best up and coming Greek defenders Kostas Manolas.

Transfers

I loaned out a lot of the U20 players from the team and also sold Paulo Machado to Sunderland for €650,000. I also terminated the loans of 3 players to free up some more room for wages.

With the €4 Million transfer budget that I was given I made 2 moves. One was securing the signature of Ivan Marcano our Spanish CB who was on loan from Rubin Kazan in Russia. We we're paying 100% of his wages and we had a clause in the loan contract to buy him for €1.5 Million so I figured it made sense to sign him permantenly.

I also signed one of the best players of the Greek National Team in Georgios Samaras from Celtic. We signed him for €1.8 Million upfront and €400,000 over 24 months. The Celtic fans were very upset that Neil Lennon sold him to us as it was nearly half of what they paid to get him in the first place. Samaras will occupy the left wing and will also feature at striker throughout the season.

UEFA Champions League

We ended up drawing F.C. Porto, A.C. Milan and FC Kobenhaven in our Champions League group. By far not the best group but also not the worst we could have gotten. I believe we can finish above FC Kobenhaven but it will be difficult to defeat Porto and Milan.

We had some up and downs this month. Beginning September with a solid 4-2 win over Panaitolikos we thought we'd have a solid run in the next game against A.C. Milan. We struck fast and Javier Saviola scored a goal at 5 miinutes however we had a few lapses in defense and Mattia De Sciglio and Ricardo Montolivo managed to score 2 and win the game for the Italian giants.

Our next two games were not the best football that Olympiakos has played. We came off the loss and nearly lost against in our Greek Superleague match against Veroia however we rescued a draw thanks to a 90(+4) goal from Saviola. Our game against Iraklis in the Greek Cup also ended in a draw however no goals were scored, a very poor performance.

Overall a below average month, we will have to improve next month.

Javier Saviola, Georgios Samaras and Michael Olaitan all impressed this month. Our 20 year old winger Olaitan started his Olympiakos career off with a bang scoring a header and assisting a Samaras goal in our 4-2 thumping of Panaitolikos.

As the transfer deadline was on the first of the month we only managed to sign one more player. 19 year old Greek defender Dimitris Goutas for €675,000. Goutas signed from Greek Superleague side Xanthi however as part of the contract he was automatically loaned back to them until the end of the season.

We had a good month in some competitions and an average one in others. In the Champions League we played very well against F.C. Porto at home, earning ourselves a 2-2 draw and against FC Kobenhavn away, earning ourselves another 2-2 draw. We're currently 3rd after 3 games playing Kobenhavn next month at home.

We had a win, a loss and a draw in our 3 games in the Greek Superleague with Atromitos giving us our first loss in the league. We did beat our rivals PAOK however in a fantastic 3-0 match.

In the Greek Cup 2nd round we proved too strong for Iraklis finishing the 2nd leg 2-0 thanks to a goal from Dimitris Kolovos (subbed on at 70 min). He also assisted a Samaras goal.

The three top performers for the month were Javier Saviola who has brought his season total to 9 goals, Dimitris Kolovos who played the role of "super-sub" against Iraklis and Georgios Samaras who assisted both the goals in the F.C. Porto game.

UEFA Champions League

We did it! We made the round of 16 in the Champions League thanks to some crafty play from the boys as well as some luck. Firstly we played FC Kobenhavn and demolished them 5-1 which meant that we still had a chance to make it through, depending on our next game against A.C. Milan. Milan came to Greece thinking they would walk out the winners however Alenjandro Dominguez had something else in mind and we won the game 1-0.

We went to Portugal to play F.C. Porto and we knew that it was a game we were probably going to lose. If A.C. Milan won they would go to 2nd place and advance.. if they drew or lost however we would go through. The football gods obviously heard our prayers and FC Kobenhavn beat A.C. Milan at the San Siro 2-1! We were going through to the round of 16.

All was well until the draw which placed us against Barcelona, arguably the best team in the competition. Come February we'll try our best to beat them and advance.

Greek Superleague

We won most of our games over the past 2 months however we lost 2 league games at home. Both came 4 days before a Champions League matchup. I felt I needed my best players at full strength and rested them for both of the games. I feel like my squad needs more depth as the squads I had on the field for both of those games were just not performing.

We're currently tied at the top of the table with Atromitos. I have no fears that we will still win the league.

Some of the top performing players over the past two months have been Georgios Samaras, Jose Holebas and Alenjandro Dominguez.
