Sven's got competition for Lyon job
Sven-Goran Eriksson has declared his interest in the vacant managerial post at Olympique Lyonnais. The other names that have been mentioned are former Brazil manager Dunga and former France manager Raymond Domenech.

Sven Goran Eriksson named new Lyon boss
Sven Goran Eriksson has been unveiled the new Lyon manager at a press conference this afternoon, Chairman Jean-Michel Aulas had this to say about his appointment;
"I am pleased that we have managed to get Sven in as he had lots of other offers from various teams, this obviously shows that our club is moving forward and it is a new era for Lyon, i give him all my luck and hopefully he will bring us lots of silverware to the Stade de Gerland"

Sky sports News: You sit here as the new Lyon coach, how do you feel?

Sven: I feel great, i have been at a number of clubs now but i feel this will be my greatest challenge.

Sky Sports News: You will need to get to know your new squad, will you be adding any players and do you know a lot about the players you have?

Sven: I will be looking at numerous players to sign, and i have seen Lisandro Lopez play a few times and he looks a great player.

Sky Sports News: Will you be giving us any information on what tactics you will use ?

Sven: No i will not, Thank you .


Sven completes first new signings
Olympique Lyonnais chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Sven has completed the new signings of Michael Ballack, Juliano Belletti and Joe Cole on free transfer's and Danny Welbeck and Jo on a season long loan they have also confirmed that they just missed out on the signing of William Gallas to Manchester City.

Sven- "I am delighted to wrap up deals for these players they are great players and i am sure they will succeed at the club, also i am very erm... sad about loosing out to Manchester City for William, but we don't have the money to compete with teams like that."
