ENSCHEDE, June 20 - It took the club some time, but there is finally coming white smoke from the Enschede chimneys. The "Tukkers" have a successor for their ex-manager Michel Preud'homme.
After the departure of the Belgian who continues his career at the Arab top club El Shabab, chairman Joop Munsterman approahced inter alia Co Adriaanse, Ron Jans and Marco van Basten, but without success, until this afternoon. Munsterman appointed the vacant seat to the relatively unknown Derk Cramer.

Cramer (26) is born and raised in Enschede and was the manager of the first team of the amateur club Sparta Enschede, with impressive results. Under his eye Sparta Enschede won in 2009 the championship in the Amateur 2nd Division East and got promoted to the Amateur 1st Division East.

Between 2009 and 2011, Cramer was active as a trainer for junior teams of FC Twente/Heracles. Cramer has signed a contract until 2013.

In the press conference Cramer mentioned that he was always a big fan of the club and called his appointment a dream coming true.

Cramer's first act on the transfer market. Albrighton, Diouf and Welbeck to Twente on loan.

ENSCHEDE, July 2 - Barely two weeks after his appointment, Cramer welcomed three new players for the coming year. Marc Albrighton comes on loan from Aston Villa. The 21-year old right winger hopes to show his talent in the Grolsch Veste.

Also the Cameroonian Mame Biram Diouf and Englishman Danny Welbeck come on loan to Twente. Both strikers come from Manchester United.

Rindarøy to Cramer's squad

ENSCHEDE, July 4th - Two days after the arrival of Welbeck and Diouf, FC Twente presents her fourth addition to the team of this season. Knut Olaf Rindarøy signed for four seasons in the Grolsch Veste. The Norwegian left defender comes from FK Molde for €850.000.

ENSCHEDE, July 23rd - A good month after his appointment by Joop Munsterman, Derk Cramer awaits his debut in professional football as the manager of FC Twente. The Tukkers will play the final of the local Super Cup, known as the Johan Cruijff Shield against Ajax.

It is currently unknown, whether Twente's latest addition to the team will make an appearance. Numenja Gudelj from NAC Breda seems to fit in ambitious plans of Cramer in the future. As for now this would be the most plausible starting eleven for Cramer's squad.

Twente shows character in JC shield win

ENSCHEDE, July 23rd - FC Twente has won the Johan Cruyff Shield for the second consecutive time. In Amsterdam Twente defeated the same opponent as last year, Ajax, with 4-2.

The first half was majorly for the Amsterdammers had the best of the game and scored through a far shot from Jali in the 22nd minute. However, barely ten minutes later Wout Brama knocked the 1-1 against the nets from eleven meters after a foul from Boerrigter at Douglas. Ajax kept having the better of the game after the equalizer which resulted in the 2-1. Daley Blind headed a clean corner kick from Theo Janssen behing goalkeeper Michaylov.

In the second half Twente played better than in the first half and created a couple of chances, but the finishing left much to be deserved until Chadli found the right foot of fellow winger Albrighton, who put the second equalizer for FC Twente on the boards. Barely five minutes later Ajax was given a penalty after a foul from Douglas. Sulejmani attempted to smash the ball behind Michaylov, but the Bulgarian goalkeeper bravely stopped the ball from passing the goal line.

In the 86th minute of the match Luuk de Jong scored after a brilliant solo through the Ajax' defense and for the first time in the match FC Twente was ahead. Ajax desperately tried to retaliate back to 3-3, but a counter with Willem Janssen in the main role allowed debutant Albrighton to score his second of the night and to secure the first prize for Derk Cramer.

Villareal will be the last obstacle for FC Twente to gain entrance to the UEFA Champions League. After defeating the Romanian squad FC Vaslui (0-1 away, 3-1 at home), the Tukkers were linked to the club of ex-Feyenoord player Jonathan de Guzman. The games will be at 17th and 23rd August. We will update you with the result in the next circulation

Flying start for Twente, ADO

After five matches, the Eredivisie is led by two teams with 13 points each. Both Twente and, surprisingly, ADO took quite the start in the Dutch highest division. ADO defeated VVV, Utrecht, RKC and surprisingly Feyenoord while they drew against NEC Nijmegen.

Twente started their domestic league with a 2-0 victory over De Graafschap, where Luuk de Jong scored both goals. The week after Luuk de Jong scored again as he gave Twente the lead in the home match against PSV, but Engelaar scored twenty minutes later, deciding the match in a draw. The "Twentse derby" between FC Twente and Heracles Almelo went to the side of Derk Cramer with 4-1 before Twente easily defeated Excelsior with 3-0. Luuk de Jong scored in both matches (twice against Excelsior), before falling out due to a (brief) injury. His replacement Marc Janko didn't disappoint in the match against Heerenveen as he scored twice and lead Twente to another 4-1 victory.

FC Twente now shares the first place with ADO Den Haag and is only leading by goals. The top 5 is completed by Roda JC (10 points), De Graafschap (10) and NEC (9)
