Boring Bit

This is going to be my last attempt at a story. I kept making a complete mess of my old ones. This time though I have alot more time to play the game, and I have also found my spirit to play FM10 again. Lets hope this is a good one!

The Story begins

Our story begins in the town of Rochdale, A large market town in Greater Manchester. The local club, Rochdale A.F.C are a small team that currently play their football in leauge two. Nice start, like lower league football so i'll be following.

You in League 2 or League 1 ?

Kelvin Langmead is a very good CB if your in League 2 :)

Pre-season report

It have been a pretty good pre-season here at Rochdale. We played 9 frendlys, and we won 6 of them. Most notably, we won a competition that the club ran. We had a 5-0 win over Badalona in that competition, and new signing Djima Oyawolé scored a hattrick and Romano Sion also grabbed himself a goal. The team are all in good spirits after the pre-season friendlies and are fired up for the start of the leauge campaign. Another part of pre-season that was good was our game against Ranger. Even though we lost, we had a amazing attendance of 9814! That is just 186 people off full capacity. The support from the fan was brillant, and I would like to thank them for that.

Transfer Updates

Rochdale have brought in another striker to the club to join new signing Sion. 32 year old Djima Oyawolé signed a 2 year contract with the dale worth 1,600 p/w. The togo player has earned 32 caps for his country and has scored 10 goals in them games. Oyawolé will be looking to score many goals for his new side and help them gain promotion

Rochdale off to a flyer

Rochdale have started their leauge campaign with a big win over Port Vale. Rollinson's buying spee was evedent in the match today, as all four of the goal scores score on the debut. Jason Kennedy opened the scoring with a marvelous long range effort. Graig Dawson and Chris O'grady add more and Winston Faerber headered home a forth in injury time. Rochdale didnt have the whole match their own way though. Port Vale did threaten a few times, and missed a clear cut opportunity. Port Vale did hit the back of the net, but unfortunaly for Rochdale keeper, Frank Fielding, the ball rebounded off him and into the net. After the game, the keeper said he was unfazed by this event and was ready to put another good performance in for the next game.

Rochdale claim massive win over rivals Stockport

Rochdale has a great game today over rivals Stockport in the 1st round of the Leauge Cup, but they put their fans through the aggony of a penalty shoot-out. Neither team was able to score within 120 minutes, and penalties we're needed to separate the teams. Tom Kennedy could have won the game for Rochdale in normal time, but the left back missed this penalty opportunity. Rollinson kept faith in Kennedy's abillity though, and picked him to take a penalty in the shoot-put, which this time he slotted home. Sion also had a chance to finish the game in injury time, but the strikers shot cannoned off the cross bar.
The fans went home in a cheerful mood, and are now eagerly anticipating the draw for the next round. When asked who they would rather face, most fans said they didnt mind who their club played, as long as it was a home game so they could enjoy going to the game.

Another solid win for Rochdale

Rochdale claimed another victory today this fine August afternoon, up against the opposition of Aldershot. Todays matchs featured new Dale signing Romano Sion. The striker looked in good form, and grabbed himself a goal on his debut. Rochdale didnt have it all their own way though. Anthony Charles opened the scoring for Aldershot with a calm finish after 8 minutes. A goal from Sion and another two from Obadeyi put Rochdale 3-1 up. Sandell then scored a late goal to make the home fans nervous, but it proved to be nothing more than consolation goal. The Rochdale manager said that he was delighted to add another win to his tally, and is now looking forward to his next game

Good start mate.

Keep it going, you're doing really well so far.

Rochdale comfortable in win over Cheltenham

Rochdale have racked up another win today with a comforable 1-0 win over Cheltenham. Manager Rollinson may be dissapointed that his team didnt add any more to the tally, as they we're on top for most of the game. Sion scored the games only goal after 85 minutes with a good long range shot. This win now means that Rochdale are top of the leauge with 3 wins in 3. The fans will be hoping that Rollinson and the team will be able to keep this form up and continue pushing for promotion. The only sight concern for the Rochdale fans was that new signing Winston Faerber recieved an injury that will keep him out of the next game.

Rotherham prove possession isnt everything

Rotherham today proved that the only stat the counts is the scoreline. Rochdale enjoyed large amounts of possession, but still surcumbed to a 3-1 defeat. Tom Pope opened the scoring for Rotherham with an easy effort from 10 yards out. Stephen Brogan added another before Adam Le Fonre's cheeky chip over Rochdale keeper Frank Fielding. Tom Cairney grabbed a goal for Rochdale just before half time, but they we're unable to build on the goal. The Rochdale manager will be expecting the players to put that performance behind them, and put on a better performance in the next game

West Brom show their class

West Brom grabbed a deserved victory over Rochdale in the Leauge Cup today. Rollinson's men did put up a brave fight against the Championship opposition, but they we're unable to stop West Brom getting through. Rollinson has said that he was glad that the team had reached the second round of the cup. Rollinson also said that he was looking forward to the next match and was ready to show the fans that the side can get back to winning ways.

Rochdale beat arch rivals Bury

Rochdale got back into winning ways today with an easy 3-1 win over rivals Bury. The fans are glad that the team has got back on track, and are especially glad it was against their bitter foes. Bury opened the scoring when Danny Mayor scored a powerful effort after 12 minutes. Tom Kennedy then equalised for Rochdale with a superb penalty. Sion then put Rochdale ahead with a well placed shot, and captain Gary Jones finished of the scoring with a well place effort.

End of August Update

Rochdale manager Jordan Rollinson is enjoying a good start at his new club, and has won 5 of 7 games this month. Most notable of all would be the 3-1 win over rival Bury. Rochdale are currently sitting in second place in the table, just behind Dagenham and Redbridge. Rollinson has also been praised for reaching the second round of the Leauge Cup. Rochdale we're predicted to be knocked out in the first round, but they managed to prove the odds wrong. Rollinson's signings have also had an impact on the club, with main striker Romano Sion Scoring 3 goals in 5 appearences. The Rochdale manager also came second in manager of the month for the Leauge 2 competition. He finished just behind Dagenham and Redbridge manager John Still

Rochdale fans came home in a bouyant mood today after they watched their side beat Morcambe by 4 goals to 1. Obadeyi opened the scoring with a powerful effort after just 10 minutes. Faerber then converted a spot kick to put Rochdale 2-0 up. Gary Jones then added another goal to his tally with an easy finish for 6 yards out. Jevons then got a goal back for Morcambe, but we're unable to complete the comeback, with Thompson scoring a final goal for Rochdale on 87 minutes

Rochdale Trash Torquay to go 3 points clear

A fired up Rochdale side had a great home game against Torquay today. They demolished the Torquay defence and put 6 past their defence. Loan signing Daniel Ayala put on an excellent performance, scoring two goals, and winning the man of the match award. Winston Faerber also scored two goals and Sion and Kennedy added the other goals. Rochdale are looking impressive at the moment, and they are going to be tough to beat.

Rochdale lucky to draw

Rochdale had a poor game against lowly Northampton Town today. Rochdale we're expected to pile on the misery for the team that was sitting in 23rd place. Northampton started brightly though and took the lead on 15 minutes by Stephen O'flynn. Sion the equalized after 70 mins. Northampton did have 2 goal chalked off due of offsides, and Northampton manager Ian Sampson was angry as he though one of them was wrongly disallowed. Rochdale are still sitting at the top of the Coca Coca League Two on 19 points
