As always I have started a new season with Carlisle United on FM 2010 and for a change I might as well let others know about the trials and tribulations of my club.
Not much money in the transfer kitty, club debts that need to be cleared and a squad that just isn't good enough to league one. To add to the challenge I have to find a particular set of tactics to help the team overperform.
Four players have left the club in Gavin Rothery for £2,000, Gary Madine for £90,000, Richard Keogh £130,000 and Conor Tinnion £65,000.
Febian Brandy has come on loan from my parent club Man United for the season and Sean Morrison has joined from Swindon for £150,000. Michal Dolinajec come initially on loan and signed a permanent deal, he is a former Southampton man.
Tried to sign some players from league two that will help to strengthen the squad but clubs were asking too much for their players. The struggle so sign new players has continued.
In terms of new staff I have brought in John Murtough (youth coach), Alan Kernaghan (assistant manager), Simon Hunt (scout), Alan Kelly (goalkeeper coach) and Andy Caldwell (physio) and the search for a first team coach will continue until the right appointment can be made.
Consolidation in League One is the aim of the season and anything else is a bonus really as I will look to the Premier League youths being released at the end of the season.
Will post pictures and that once I sort out putting my images online and putting them in here.
