I'm not sure this transfer will fill Liverpool fans with as much optimism as Joe Cole did.
 
Better at defending than Glen Johnson. Getting on a bit now though.
 
true, but they need the options at fullback though, they're a bit light there.

Good back up to Johnson or any potential new left back. Can't see him costing much and he has experience.
 
As long as he's not our first choice LB, I'm happy with this. Hodghson seems to get the best out of players like this

Can't go wrong there.

I expect them to sign a left back in the near future then Masch is likely to leave for around 25-30M. Can be used to bring in a top defensive midfielder.

yeah sounds about right. maybe gago, poulsen. a cambiasso swap + cash deal keeps being mentioned but i cant see it. cambiasso and masch protecting eto'o, sniejder, stankovic, and milito, thats an ideal 4-2-3-1 for benitez
 
He's about as solid a right back as you can have, really, and covers the left well too. It'd be a good deal for both of us - we want rid of him. We've got Super Carlos at right back anyway.
