Which ever team I play as or which ever formation I play I seem to ship a lot of goals, even if I have what I consider good defenders in my team.

Is there a secret to organising a good solid defence or could you at least give me your top tips for being tight at the back.

Defensive line is probably one variable I am least sure on - How do you know weather to pick a high line or not? Can you tell by watching the game and seeing the type of goals you are shipping?

How do you lower the amount of goals you concede from set pieces?

Any help would be appreciated.

What roles are your central defenders on? I usually have a Cover/Stopper combo and so far in my LLM game I have only conceded about 10 goals in 20 games. I also have a ball winning mid in front of my defense to try to break attacks before they can form.
How high the defensive line should be is a mixture of how attacking you want to be, but also how quick the opposition forwards are. A high defensive line against quick forwards in not a very good idea.

Set pieces, I'm not sure. I have not really been conceding from them. Just make sure your players are doing the right things ie. tall players marking opposing tall players ect.

Thanks for the reply

My defenders are just set to the defaults. This probably why they are not doing so well but I have never really understood the rolls well enough to decide which is best for them?

Does it depend on the type of defenders you have as to which rolls they play?

Also the ball winning mid - do you play him in the DCM possition or do you play him in central midfield?
