guees not.

What is their morale? What is their in-match motivation? What are their concerns in the personal screen?

If in match any of them are nervous then let them know that there's no pressure on them at half time

If they are complacent then tell them not to be/give them a kick up the ****.

If they are just having a bad game, let them know you have faith in their ability.

See how they re-act to these in the second half ... note it down.

If succesful then apply the same in other games, if not, try other talks.

Also if you'v a easy match coming up no harm letting some of your players turn out for the reserves which will obviously be a lower standard of football, they'll get a few goals and hopefully continue it on when u re-pick them for your senior side?

when i have a player underpreforming for 3/4 matches in a row, especially if it's a new guy. i just don't play them for some matches
then after a few they will get angry cause they don't play, just before that your assistant manager should tell you he wants to play. then i play him and he starts playing great again. never did this before but the last 3 years with barca it really seems to work. though it didn't work at Zenith, Lokomotiv Moscow and Hull before I came to Barca. So I dunno, try it but if it doesn't work with certain players you shouldn't do it to often because then they will get all angry and wanna leave. since i have very tight contracts for my players at barca this will not happen to me.

If you're dropping a player for bad form, then the player interaction telling him that you are dropping him is often useful to kickstart his motivation to play increasing again.

so its alright to go into the interactions and critisize their recent performance??? i have always wanted to do that but i thought it will back fire and make the player even worse...this is like my biggest player.

well i have managed to go through the season with them now and they just reported back for pre-season so i will keep this points in mind...and do you think to any extent that when another club keep showing interest in the player, it does unsettle them????

Yes - but beware of negative reactions :) The easiest way is to look at what the fan confidence section is saying about players - if they think the player is playing like a muppet, then it's a fairly safe bet that saying something won't trigger a truly negative reaction. Saying something negative like that is useful for certain players at certain times - as with positive comments - so you need to learn how your players respond and when they'll give that response... time-consuming, but then there is the possibility of putting notes on the player's profile ;) Eventually, you'll secondguess the circumstances and be able to head things off before the fans even notice...

As Anton says, if you've truly had enough of bad form, or perhaps it's a young player who has been overplayed, saying that you're resting them and then doing it for the time period you have said publicly will encourage better performances.(And with some players, usually the young ones, it also seems to trigger the CA increases becoming apparant in increased stats. Just a random edited in thought which I need to think about some more.)

Also take a look at the pre-match teamtalk options for individual players who have performed badly - "I expect better" is an option which can give results, providing that it doesn't add too much pressure onto a mentally weak player.

If interest from another club is unsettling the player, it will show in his personal profile or in the AM feedback (and you've just given me the link between morale and motivation I was looking for - so huge, huge, huge thank yous! What you said has triggered something because I have a player who is going through exactly the same nerves before the match without it hitting his personal profile but sufficiently bad for it to be picked up pre-match by the AM. Thank you :D). My usual trick is to increase the player's value by 10 times when a wnt tag appears (obviously this might not always be possible by quite so much - but ramp it up as much as you can without risking the 'player thinks he's overpriced' worry). After a day or so the interest fades away (and if not, how about doubling or tripling that value ;) ) and the player's nerves will settle again, eventually.

Nicely put mate thanks! you must be one of the only proper know hows on this forum and pay a lot of attention to any of ur post, wether is a reply to my topic or whereva else and it seems always helpful

I usually try to rest them, or send to to reserves for a few games to let their confidence goes back up.

I discovered a really good way to boost morale and happiness.

Basically, when the morale is low, arrange a friendly with a rubbish part-time team who aren't even in a league on the game like Glapwell Town or Eton & Manor Athletic etc. Arrange this when you have a nice gap in between 2 league games (Saturday to saturday is fine, make it on the wednesday). Send out your team and obviously because you're playing some crappy team with terrible stats you will beat them quite substantially. This will boost confidence in your players and the extra time they have to play together with no pressure of the league helps big time.

Trust me this works soooo well, and you can even give your reserves a run out to keep them happy as well. But, there's always the risk of an injury so be prepared for that.
