Parent CLubs

I have been playing as Gainsborough Trinity for just over 4 seasons now. I have managed to get them into the blue square premier in my second season and kept them just above the relegation zone. I have 2 feeder clubs, I could of had more but i didnt see the point as they were all the same type(friendly/loan), but i have not yet been able to find a 'sutible' parent team. Is there anything i can do to improve my chances of getting a parent team. I know getting promoted will improve my chances but what else.
 
Its just so annoying as i have been doing quite well but still no parent club
I can choose what type of feeder club i want so i am trusted by the board
 
I think its luck if u get a parent club coz whn i start as a lower team i dont always get 1 but i tend to get a parent club when i am a team in bsp any lower and i dont get 1
 
when i started my stockport game the board couldnt find a suitable parent team , but then when i won the playoffs and got into league 1 i asked the board again and managed to get Man Utd as my parent team.
I think it may partly be down to success but most of its luck to be honest.

on a semi-related topic, what happens when you are a parent club and you click on 'move to affiliate'? does your player go there on loan or is it a permenant move?
i have a few decent youth players and id like to send them to a club where they can get first team experience. i loan listed them a while ago but so far no ones interested
 
If you move to affiliate you send them on a season long loan.
 
It depends on your geographic location alot of the time i think.
