Patch

Hello i have downloaded the 9.3 patch but don't know how to attach it to my football manager to update it from 9.0
i have tried to open it like people have said before downloading it.
please could someone give me a step by step on how to update it?
I have got WinRAR now as i see people use it for other things like updating pictures etc if thats any help.

The patch should be an executable (.exe) file so you can save it anywhere and just run it once it's downloaded.

the file is a .exe but when i download it it asks me what i want to open the file with think it must be broke now?
i aint the best with computers lol
thanks for trying to help me but if anyone has a spare 2 mins and knows where i am going wrong could you point me in the correct direction please or tell me a step by step how you would load one of the challenges on the download page onto ure game would be appreciated very much thank u!
