RE DOWNLOAD THE 442 WRONG LINK WAS PUT UP :)

Hello lads i'm back after a my 433 from the Beta which was very popular.
I like lower league games. I'm in the 4th season after leaving Hereford after getting back in the conference from getting them back from the southern league, I need testers for this. I've seen a lot of love for the old SAF Formation as well as people asking for a basic 442. Now. Hopefully this is what we have. Its got me to the playoffs in league 2 i was top until injuries hit me hard just before xmas. I was struggling with the 433 lower down the leagues as the players are just not good enough for the low tempo tica taca. So I wanted a basic 4-4 ******* 2 ;) But in all seriousness, its looking at the basic premise of hard work and pressing. Think A.Madrid and the way Simeone sets up. Defending starts with the 2 strikers, And this high octane high pressure game aims to get stuck in and get amongst it. As well as getting the ball in the mixer. No messing about. Were going back to the future with this one. Please test this. It might suit lower league teams more than higher I dont know. Lets find out.

Hopefully it will work for you guys as its working for me atm. Players have specific player instructions to help the pressing game. Have assistant do oppo instructions. Assistant does my training in pre season always. Will change to team cohesion high and teamwork at the start of the season as that seemed to work on FM14, Then balanced and attacking movement after a couple of months. Switching back to assistant around christmas then going back to the other two after January and back to the assistant for pre season.

The 433 was working very well but since the patch not as good, it needs some work.

The lockdown tactic is purely to defend the lead waste time and shut up shop at the end.

Need testers for the 442!!! I'm about to test it myself but let us know how you get on ;)

442 Tatical Breakdown/Players

I'm gonna use examples of famous players so you know the type of person to get for each role.

GK- Get a good one (Buffon)
LB - An important player, someone who is gonna bomb on and offer width. Needs pace and can cross (Roberto Carlos)
LCB - Needs pace and composure again. Gonna have to fiill in for the left back at times (Maldini)
RCB- Your skipper, your leader of men. The man magnet in the middle (John Terry)
RB - Needs to be a good defender first and supports the winger but rarely looks to overlap cross from deep (Old Gary Neville)
LCM - You want a left footer Needs to fill in for the attacking players but have a range of passing and can cross (Edgar Davids)
RCM - A box to box player who arrives late in the box, likes a shot, got to be athletic (Patrick Vierra)
RM - Tricky direct winger loves to dribble and get the ball in the box (Luis Figo)
LM- Your flair player comes inside to create room for the full back can see a pass (Zidane)
DF - Does the donkey work for the other striker, big powerful quick can run (Heskey)
AF- The finisher, wants to be lightning. Looks for ball over the top can cross it to the big fella in the middle (M.Owen)

In writting the player roles I saw myself seeing the Man Utd side of 1999. So i flipped the formation. A lot of you like the S.A.F approach. So lets compare the formation to the players of that side.

442 1999 S.A.F

GK - Schmeichel
RB - Gary Neville, In his younger days he would break his neck and get passed becks and get it in the mixer
RCB - Jaap Staam, Cover the full back with his recovery pace was very important to the side. SAF biggest mistake selling him.
LCB - Henning Berg, Man magnet again got lots of blocks in and his head on everything
LB - Dennis Irwin, Used to support the winger but could never catch up giggs to overlap
RM - David Beckham, Would tuck in as G Nev Overlapped and ping balls on the head of the strikers
RCM - Roy Keane, Protect the back 4 and had a range of passing, the boss
LCM - Paul Scholes, Arrived late in the box, Paul Scholes scores Goals
LM- Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs runs down the wing
DF - Yorke/Sherringham, Each would drop deeper and get on the end of balls from becks and giggs
AF - Andy Cole/Solskjaer, Both finishers and predators who would create chances for there mates aswell

Not tested this at all, but its just the other formation mirrored and that one has worked really well for me. Might be worth switching betwwen the two. Especially if the computer gets used to you could be an effective weapon. Thought i would post it as i see a lot of love for this formation and as i made the mirrored version thought this would go down well. Please Test and let us know how you get on

drew first game 1-1 then won 4-0 at home, i was playing away and it felt a bit open, maybe i should just stick with it and see how it goes :)

The 4-4-2 you have uploaded is different to the screenshots (dlf, full backs on automatic etc).

FFS cheers mate. Will fix it now

No problem. Probably why the previous poster said "it felt a bit open", the wrongly uploaded tactic had 2 MC's on automatic with the mentality attacking, no wonder he found it a bit open!

Yeah that was a mates who sent me his tactic to have a look at. I thought the same lol. I'll put up an in depth player roles up in a bit, well done tho man was a good catch.

will try this out with crystal palace

Good luck, only tried this in league two but have done well in the cups against bigger teams. You might be too open in the prem as it is an attacking formation for an underdog but its knocked out prem teams for me with Oxford.
