Working on a project that will result in (hopefully) some handy and useful software for FM and was wondering if you people could tell me what you think the peak ages for various player types are, on average.

For example:
Goalkeeper: 34
Defender: 30
Midfielder: 30
Winger: 28
Striker: 27

The more detailed the role, the better. So information on when poachers peak as compared to target men or advanced forwards would be good. Cheers!

Pretty sure FM 2011 has these ages in the helpful hints that pop up when your loading

Disagree with strikers, look at Drogba :D

The problem with this current list is that as you say look at drogba, you need to define an age bracket for the positions peak (Players dont peak for 1 year then drop off usually). Pretty sure the game engine has that strikers hit peak at 26 and generally start to decline in stats from about 32 onwards

The 'list' above is just random figures. I am aware there are some hints/tips that mention this, but only for a few groups of players. Am more interested in what people think is more the truth. In the example of strikers peaking between 26-32, then I'd say the peak would be 29, the midpoint, for my purposes.

Drogba isn't human. He is actually a cyborg.

dekay77 has a point. A big factor on how long a player can maintain their peak will be their 'Natural Fitness' attribute.
