Penalty issue

Steven Gerrard has 16 finishing 15 composure and 17 penalty taking, he has scored 8 penalties this season missing only 2 or 3
The player I created has 19 finishing 20 composure and 16 penalty taking, this season he has scored one penalty but missed about 6. He was missing them so regularly that I let gerrard take them. His stats for penalties are better than gerrard's so why does he miss so much? He missed about 6 last season too. Is it because he is only 18?

There are other stats to take into consideration, some of them are invisible, such as their ability to handle pressure

Pressure attribute is 19 so that shouldn't be a problem, unless lower is better which i'm pretty sure it isn't.
