Per League Appearance Clause

So I am in the process of signing a young player.

One of the clauses in the transfer is the per league appearance.
If I have a maximum of 20 appearances and a fee of 5k. Does that mean every season I pay the team 5k for an appearance, or do I stop the paying the fee after 20 appearances?

it means you pay a sum of money every time he makes an appearance up to his 20th appearance for your club.

5k for the first 20 apps, then it's settled.

It means that for the first 20 times he plays for the club, you will give the club you are buying him from 5K.
