Sorry if this in the wrong place, but in a new FM game (22 aug 2009), playing as manchester united (obviously Champions League) looking to sign milner, but hes just played in Villa's euro cup 4th qualifying round against motherwell. Im fuzzy in my european eligibility rules. does this mean:

a) i can use him in the group stages in my first CL squad
b) i can only use him from january in the second CL squad
c) i can't use him at all in Europe this season

if you guys and girls can get back to me quickly as there's only a week left in the transfer window

Cheers

I dont think you can use him at all if hes already played in europe mate.

hes played in europe so he cant play till next season
its the same as if he had of played in the fa or carling cup he couldnt play in them

Just found thiis from the Uefa Regulations:

Subsequent registration
17.17 For all matches from the start of the first knockout round, a club may register
a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the
current competition. Such registration must be completed by
1 February 2008 at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.
17.18 One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club
competition matches for another competing club in the current season may
exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:
− in the same competition for another club
− for another club that is currently in the same competition.

Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Cup, his former
club must not have played in the UEFA Cup at any point in the current
season.

technically i shoudl be able to play him in january as he has only played in europa league and im in Champions league...
