Player Interaction Bug

So twice a main player has asked to leave my team (PSV) when bids have come in from premier league teams, I've asked them to stay etc etc but they said under no circumstances would they want to stay. So I've accepted bids and they ended up leaving for these teams. When I interact with them to say "we're disappointed to lose you" they both said they don't know what I'm talking about and that they never wanted to leave or that it's a step down???

PSV are a prestigious club and have European football. In terms of stature, similar to top English teams. It might be a aspect of the game where the players could be eitherwise inclined.
