Does anyone know how many apperances a player needs to gain nationality? If it differs from league to league I'm interested in Serbian league.

a player would have to stay in a country for x days to gain the country's nationality and it is not affected by the appearances he makes. different countries have different days (england - 1800++, romania - 1000++, belgium - 800++ days, etc.). not sure about serbia though

Actually in Serbia appearances do actually matter, not only the days spent in the country.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what the exact number of days is, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a post about this or something similar by a guy who is playing the in the serbian league, just look around the threads, I'm sure you'll find it.
I thought this only applies for certain nationalities though, not all...

I know about the days needed, I need the appearence number ie matches played. I've also searched a lot around the forum but I haven't found an answer.

Don't care about the appearence number. :D.
You need to know 2 things in fact:

1) the years number before your foreign player can ask to obtain the nationality of the championship is playing in... And it changes from one championship to another, so to have an idea just have look on a game of your schedule (all the information is there).

2)And if you play with an EPL club, there one solution to erase the foreign players' rule... ;).
This solution is the "trainees act" like I call it... In fact to be considered as "trained in England"
your foreign player must have done at least 3 years in an english club before his 21. Really good, because before 21 a player doesn't need to be registered to take part in a game...
So, the solution is to raise the number of your partenairship's and to send your trainees there for one or two season(s). (H)(H)(H)

Hope that's helpfull to you. ;)

I have the same problem with Serbian league. My Peruvean player is with me more than 3 years, but "needs more appearances". How many more?
