Hey guys, is it possible to convince a player to play for a different national team ? I am managing AC Milan and I have Gabriel Iancu (Romanian) in my team. I have developed him hugely in the past 2 seasons and he still didnt play for Romania. Can I make him play for Italy ? Is there a way to acomplish this ?

Before a player can represent a nation he needs to hold the nationality (time to get nationality varies according to the nation's residency rules). Having resided in a country long enough however does not automatically mean he takes the nationality. Once he gets the nationality it is then just a simple matter of getting him selected by the national team. The question is has Iancu lived in Italy long enough to get Italian citizenship? If not he will not be eligible for Italy no matter what you do.

Of course not, he was 19 when i signed him and now he is 21, but in german football there are 18 years old footballers who gain citzenship just so they can play for the country, not the other way around.
