Has anyone else noticed an issue with player ratings, namely goalkeepers

I have Victor Valdes at Man Utd, last season PL top keeper with an average rating of about 6.7. This season, exactly the same average rating, for Valdes and PL keeper of the season I would say a bit low, when other positions you would be higher.

Also defenders seem to have higher average ratings than midfielders and forwards?

i think goals affect ratings lot, so when a CB scores from a corner he'll probably get POM but keepers never score so their ratings stay low

It depends how busy he is. If the keeper is only making 1 or 2 saves a match he's not going to get a 7.5 rating. My keeper usually rates the highest when I lose as he saves more shots, even though he concedes a couple.

This. I've gone 7 games with conceding, with some help from my GK, yet each game his average was between 6.8-7.0, simply put he didn't really have to do much, my defenders were averaging 7+ each game, if my defenders were playing badly and gifting chances to the opposition but my keeper made the difference by keeping them out, he'd have a 7.5/8+ rating.

Even if he concedes and you lose 1-0, but the scoreline could've been 3 or 4 more, he'd have a high match rating aswell.
