I bought a player from a Norweigian club and played him every game in my pre-season with Rotherham. But when it came to my first league game I couldnt pick him because he played for two different clubs in Norway this season...

Will I be able to play him when the Norweigian league-season ends in september/october or will I have to wait until the next season in England?

He was my most expensive transfer this season on top of that...
 
Interesting rule that - didn't think that him playing in England would be any of the Norwegian FA's business.

I suspect you'll be able to play him when the Norwegian season ends, yes.
 
I hope you are right. Its very annoying that it doesnt tell you that before you buy the player and it even lets you use him in friendlies, then when the season begins its like "nope **** you"...
 
he isnt. its a fifa rule. its a yearly prohibition on playing for 3 clubs in ANY league.

so. that was not a good buy on your part :).

and, it does say you wont be able to play him, i believe its one of those cards to the left of the players name, like the ones that ID him as u21, or HG etc...
 
It didnt say that when I bought him because my next game was a friendly. The card u mean is the one called "inegliable for next game" which he wasnt when I bought him...
 
There should be a blue player card before you buy him that is like 2C or something, which says he's already played for 2 clubs
 
Maybe I missed that one I dont know...but do u know if its calender year or not? Guess I have to get a loan replacement until hes back and maybe try to loan this guy back to the club I bought him from.
 
Honestly didn't know that was a rule, but then again, it's not very often someone would move 3 times permanently in the same season anyway.
 
When you make transfer bid for the player, top right box does tell, in red color that the player will not be eligible to play if you sign him.
 
Yeah it's 2 clubs in a calendar year unless they're loans, but yeah it should have told you either on the transfer bit screen or the contract negotiations.
 
It's 2 clubs in a calendar year, but I can't remember if it resets January 1st or 1 year after the last appearance for the first of the 2 clubs.
