Player got sent off for a striaght red in the semis of the FA cup. He was one of my first team midfielders and I was severly short on players in that area. We went on to lose on Penalties. Fined him 2 weeks wages, Fully expeced him to be unhappy.
But he came out and said he accepted his fine, on his personal tab he said "is determind to win back the managers respect"
I never used to get a good discipline rating, but in this game basically I issue a warning for a first offence red card, and fine them a week after that, 2 weeks after that...
Why does everyone always assume that squad discipline relates to red/yellow cards?
It relates to the overall discipline within the squad - i.e. how 'strict' you are with your players.
Things like not performing in matches, not training hard, unprofessional behaviour and just general indiscipline should always be met with a bollocking in private chat and/or warnings/fines for persistent 'offenders'.
Red and yellow cards are secondary issues and won't normally have players complaining about lack of discipline...
