Player unhappy

One of my key players got sent off, so i fined him a weeks wages (i fine everyone who gets sent off). He was unhappy about this and we talked, which made things worse.

Now his morale is always 'poor' . I tried talking to him but he says "our relationship has broken down and i dont think talking to you can fix it". I tried offering him a new contract with a higher wage but he doesnt want to enter talks.

Inter Milan are also after him and Im worried he will want to leave.

Is there anything i can do too improve his morale and happiness?

Fixed it - I said in a press conference that i consider him my star individual in midfield

Always Play Him and always say positive things about him

As Mata says keep playing him and be positive about his perfomance. It may ake a while but he will back down.

Good that you fixed it. But (and I apologise if you knew this already) if a player gets a straight red card in a game, that's when you fine them a week or two weeks' worth of wages. If they get a second yellow and get sent off, and you still fine them, they usually become unhappy So that's the rule to follow basically. Straight red = fine, 2 yellow cards = Issue a warning.
