Player won't return from loan!

Signed Balanta last season and loaned him back to River for the season. But i'm now into the new season and every few days I get a message saying he is returning from loan but never does and his contract extends. Anyone had this/know how to fix this?
 
Sounds like a bug, have you got a screenshot?
 
This is an old bug never fixed, if i remember well i had it in FM11, i think is due to the different dates of the transfer windows
 
Is there anyway to fix it? I can't even sell him and he's on 40k per week!!!!

I can't, it extends by itself. I've tried transfer listing him and loan listing him as well as proposing a loan extension but there's not interest. There's no option to recall him from loan or release him. I even offered him a new contract which he accepted but is still out on loan!!
 
Yeah, I've got this problem too. Did he ever come back? I think I might just try wait it out and see when he comes back. In the meantime I'll use a regen I have who's also 4.5 star potential oO)

can't you just recall him from loan?
 
I've had this before, think it's caused by the team you've loaned him to have had their season extended. My player did come back after a few months.

He came back a year later and is now one of my best players :)
 
Ah, that's okay then :) I've bought a regen from Real Madrid for now. He only cost me 9M, considering he's 4.5 star potential. At 17, he's 6'6" with 17 tackling and 17 heading. Going to be fun to see how this will play out. :P

EDIT: For future reference, and people who have this problem, Eder Alvarez Balanta has returned to me from River on the 21st December. So he ended up on loan for a season and 5 months approx. I'll assume it would be similar for others too.
