I am Managing Arsenal and currently in my 2nd season. Well of late i found out that my players attributes are gradually decreasing, especially the metal and technical attributes. plus my board have updated my training facilities. i was wondering maybe its because i have being taking too many holidays. Well guys has anyone experienced this before?:(

What training have you put them on? And I never take a holiday, every day's a working day in a manager's life! ;)

I have grouped them under various training schedules which was bringing the best out of them in the 1st season (especially David Villa netted 42 in 33 league games n 64 in all).

Cool. Yeah, you would find some of the attributes will decrease over time, like at the end of my first season Fabregas' long shots went from 13 to 10, and Dzeko's heading went from 16 to 12, which was a ****** as he was main target man. Probably the training, not saying it's wrong or not suitable as you'll never find the right training schedule. Let's just hope they increase again <)

I holiday a lot, and a lot of players seem to downgrade quickly :| If a player reaches 30 in my squad now, i will sell him. I hate seeing players decrease. I brought in the real young players like Aguero and Messi. But even though De Rossi is the best DMC on the game still, he is 30 years old now. I still wouldnt make an offer for him, i have a gut feeling he will decrease. I don't think you can do much to stop the aging, as long as you play them a lot. David Villa in the same save, was in the first team for 5 years until i sold him. He should decrease after the 3rd. But he didn't, probably because i played him every game, i dont know.. Maybe its a Ryan Giggs type of thing, play them and they should become consistant at any game. <)

Very well said FourFourTwo. Can I ask you though, why do you holiday so much? And when during the season do you holiday? Whenever you feel like it?

sometimes, the game randomly decides "Right, he'***** his potential, it's all downhill from here" regardless of their age. that's what happened to Mark Beevers in one of my 09 games. he hit 23, was one of the best CB's in the world, and his stats started to plummet.

I've had players in the U-18 squad with stats declining. I always use the standard training schedule in case I inevitably mess up. Never understood how my top regen at the age of 19 suddenly declined in most of his stats

I've spend ages trying to understand training in Football Manager. Ever since I first bought 07. Here's what I get from it:

Forget about the training scheduels, it's not important. The most important thing for training is your coaches. Why? Well, getting your coach training ratings up to even just 2.5 stars can make a huge difference. And the great thing about the coaches is that no matter how small your club is, you can always find decent coaches. Players will increase their stats if you leave them on the General scheduel but have the right coaches

After that, the facilites are the next priority. The higher the training facilites your club has, the more likely it is your players will improve.

Training scheduels are nowhere near as important as people think they are. People often say they have the best training schedule ever, but it's not possible. If you don't have either of the above, your training scheduel won't make a difference. Training scheduels are only used like a booster pack. Take the Tactics slider down a bit and add it to the Attacking slider, you're just spending more time on Attacking and thus of passing and creativity will go up quicker if you have the right coaches and facilites

Edit: First team football is also pretty important. The higher the level he is playing at, the better chance of improving

true, even if you set intensive defense training, and low set pieces, you can still see set pieces go up more than tackling and marking, and that's down to your coaches.

Mmm, theres a few reasons why i do it. I guess i do it so much because i take so long from game to game, i praise way too many players and create about 2 tactics in the game every week. But, sometimes i do it against oppenents i'm wary of like Tottenham or even Fulham. As they always seem to beat me. Although, this season i'm trying to not to simulate any games. I usually holiday in the middle, the boring part. The start and the end mean more. But for me, usually smack bang in the middle. Sometimes i feel like it, or sometimes i just get bored. :'( But like i said, i'm giving up. Before my current season, i skipped 80% of my managerial career. Talk about not playing the game. :O
