So I just got promoted to the Championship with mansfield in 2015, i'm trying to get some loans in and signings because my team isn't good enough. but for some reason, players would rather join lower league teams than me? It doesn't make sense to me

it does , It's all about the reputation tbh .. like players will join wolves (sky bet league 1) and not yeovil (championship).
you need to win more trophies , or at least get progress more in the cups

FMrize is right, I have a save going with Yeovil (link in the signiture below - shameless plug I know!) and the first season despite being in the championship we were attracting players based on our reputation as a mid-table League 1 club.

This changed after we avoided relegation and we could attract some championship standard players but it's also partly to do with wage budget and the demands of the players in that division.

My advice would be to make some cheap signings on frees and don't increase your wage spend too much (no players over 5k/week) and just aim to stay up for the first season in the championship. Once you achieve that, your reputation will go up and finances will allow bigger wage spend for you to make an impact in 2016/17.

Hope that helps!
