As anyone tried playing with two deep lying playmakers on FM 11. I am playing has Arsenal in a 4231 system and just thought about having two deep lying playmakers in the CM position. One will be set to defence and the other will be set to support. I just wanted to ask if the tactical experts can give me any advice in this area.

Also would it be a good option to have two deep lying playmakers. I am going to play Alex Song has the deep lying playmaker defend but need another player to play the deep lying playmaker support (please could you recommend a player for this role as I dont think Jack Wilshere as the defensive ability to play this role in midfield.

Yer I play with 2 all the time, play fabregas as the other deeplying support as ur main playmaker, they don't need goood defence really cause ur other one is set to defend so will work well.

yes it can work, but have a DM like M'Villa or N'Koulou who is going to run around behind them intercepting any tackles they have missed and recycling the ball back to them as quickly as possible for them to look up and pick out a pass...

have 1 striker (Van Persie) and both your wingers (Walcott and Arshavin) running from deep always and running with ball... as soon as the DLM's get the ball, they can see the forwards making forward runs and pick them out with a great pass... (Have their passing set to Direct or even Long) playing through balls all the time!

I would suggest Necip Uysal as the best DLM in the game:

Although that's quite a few years in, so he might not develop like that for somebody else.

Thanks Raikon

I was thinking of using Alex Song as the player running around intercepting the ball do you think he would be good enough for that role, deep lying playmaker defend

The player you suggested Necip Uysal are those his stats at the start of the game or has he been trained

Could you suggest any other Deep Lying Playmakers in the game. I was thinking about using Fabregas as the Deep Lying Midfielder Support role what do you think

use Fabregas mate :) that is him 5 years on, here is him at the start:

Song would be decent, but he is more of a ball winner is he not? if you want him to do the roles you said above, you would need a DM as suggested above :) have Fabregas move into channels, roam from position as well :)

Would you suggest that I retrain Song to play more like a deep lying playmaker defend or buy Yann M'Villa and have Song has a back up for the deep lying playmaker defend role. Also do you suggest playing Jack Wilshere as Attacking Midfielder AMC. I have just read a post by INickStuff about creating the central winger and modern day second striker. and I think that Jack might be suited to either role because the positions for each role at AMC.

What do you think about playing two ball playing defenders with defend duty for each player

I am know tactical genius and have a very limited knowledge of this game so your recommendations and expertise is very helpful

I would suggest getting in a proper Ball winner like M'Vila and have Song as a backup even Jordan Mutch is a machine and can be picked up for dirt cheap 1st season....

dont have your Cb's as ball players, you already have 2 in Fabregas and Song then Wilshere would be a good player there.. Amc is his role, so you can instruct him to do whatever you want him too (like Inickistuff said)

have proper defenders, cover and defend or stopper!

Nick Montgomery would be a great, cheap choice for your Ball Winning Midfielder role.
