Playmaker and target man question?

Hi all I am pretty new here and in the fm game. I have 1 question: Do I always need to have 1 playmaker and 1 targetman in my team or I dont need to set them?

Nope you don't need to select one. Just click on select playmaker/target man and select 'none'

You don't need to set them. Sometimes they help your tactic, sometimes they may not. It's up to you.
