Poor defence

Hello, i'm in my fifth season with Eastleigh, and i have had some serious problems defensively, i'm simply conceding way too many goals.

I have just changed to a defensive midfielder, and all my defenders have decent positioning, pace, acceleration, marking and tackling. (Around 10-14). This is as decent as i can get with a very low wage budget anywas.
So why do i conceed so many goals? Are my opponents simply too good?

your tactic seems far too defensive and they would sit back waiting to get pressured, your player roles need adjusting.

you have 3 CB's and a HB this will keep them sitting back because this becomes basically a 4 man defence with no Wing back support.

have you tried setting your defenders to Ball playing defenders and have your HB as either a ball winning midfielder or Regista?

Thank you very much for the advice! Won my first game with the regista and ball playing defender. Even had 61% posession, which i only managed when playing with to central midfielder. Will probably give me more goals as well.

if you using an Anchorman or Halfback in center, try using your center Defender as stopper, and the other two as cover for your wingers, if using Regista or DLP for more possession system using central as cover for him and the other two as stoppers making your wingers to stand-off more. That's what works for me when playing with 3 defenders.
