Portuguese Wonder..?

Going to start a new game as I'm bored of the Golden Oldies one because there isn't really any competition because most of the teams don't have full XI's.

I want to become Portugal manager and make them the best team in the world and make history by winning them the world cup and euro's consistently for a long time. But i came across a problem.

I haven't got an out and out striker. Other than possibly relying on Ronaldo playing up front and getting all of my goals, i was wondering if anyone knows of any Portuguese striker on the game that scores or is capable of scoring on a regular basis?

not really... because the squad isn't the greatest and it will be tough to keep the consistency.

Isn't Liedson classed as Brazilian on this game?
 
Liedson, Djalo and the geezer that plays for Werder Bremen, there's a few good Portuguese strikers
 
I know they are good, but on the game are they goalscorers? Because that is what i'm lacking.

You should have an excellent midfield as well. Moutinho,Simao,Quaresma,Ronaldo,Veloso,Nani etc plus a decent defence i would use Ronaldo up front on his own
 
I was thinking of doing that, but I'd prefer him out on the wing, in his natural position. Because if i do play him up front on his own, and he gets injured, i still have no goalscorer

lol, tough one... just as in real life....

you'll do ok in the game with Ronaldo up front, always look for brazilians who are prepared to play for Portugal

You know of any at the beginning?
How do you find out if they are willing to play for Portugal?
 
You can go with Hugo Almeida...

And you basically just search for players with Portuguese nationality. If they have not been capped by another country and have not declared themselves for another country then you can call them up... Liedson gains Portuguese nationality in the game for example (not sure if he has at the start, probably not, in real life in only got it a few months ago...)
 
How far into the game does he get it?
I was so happy when he got it... already got 2 goals for us :D
 
In the first season I guess, just checked on my game, he moved to Napoli in the winter window, and normally players can only gain nationality if they are living in the country, so assume he got it in the first few months...
 
at the end of 2009 i think get liedson to the portuguese national side, i got him and he currently has 9 caps and 8 goals
 
if you use v 9.9 he can play for portugal same as almunia can play for england
 
fabio and rafael from man utd can actually go to the portuguese national team in real life although not sure in fm
