Possible new corner bug? (no DC needed)

Hey guys,

while playing the demo (sucks not being able to download the beta from Germany :() I stumbled upon the following.

Setup:
- corner kick, played short
- player who came short sort of inside-forward-ish, i.e. right-footed on left corner, left-footed on right corner (kinda rubbish to implement though)
- put a couple of strong players on the near post and another one on the long post
- challenge keeper with any player you have left

Now this is likely to happen:
- after the corner kick, the player with the ball finds himself loads of free space in front of him (blue line)
- he then cuts inside ...
- ... whilst his teammates crowd up the near post and the back area of the box (yellow circles)
- he then finds himself with one corner of the goal and a huge area of the box unoccupied (red area) and either scores an easy goal ...
- ... or gets his shot blocked, giving his teammate a welcome opportunity to finish from a deflection.

Doesn't work in every game, but creates some **** of a lot of nice scoring opportunities. Yup, that's a 4:0 in the 19th minute, and incredibly idiotic three of the four goals happened exactly like this.

Anyone mind taking a look at this?

You are playing against Piacenza with Barcelona, 4:0 in 19th minute is more than normal :D Anyway, nice find, could give it a try, will see..

Interesting. Was just having a conversation at work about players cutting inside scoring lots of goals. Will have a look at this. :)
 
Confirm!! My short option player (Forward) just got one goal and two assists from the first game using this corner tactic.
 
Hey can you post a screenshot of the corner setup? The one you use when making a tactic if you know what I mean?
 
i still use the 1st corner, but i have changed to be the striker, not the CB.

I don't consider it a bug or exploit, since i don't score every game, but it works and i can score one in 3 games with Mandzukic.

Using exploits its good until a certain point. After that line (that you should cross, not others, after all its your game), no joy will happen. Personal experience btw
 
Really need a screenshot man. Tried to emulate what you're trying to do here but most of the time the guy who comes short tends to dwell with the ball and dribble to the area where everyone is marked in the near post and not cross it to the far post like it should do. Maybe the bug it's fixed but I don't know. Even with the setting cross to the far post, that still doesn't happen.
 
So you're basically going for a setup like this:

Purple shows the path your striker runs into the box, yellow are the areas your other players try to clog up, red's the gap your striker finds open to shoot - or lay back to your midfielder outside the box.

Tweak as necessary. Remember: strong players on the posts, potent finishers in the 2nd row, your best finisher coming short. Ideally your short corner pass receiver would have to be either-footed, as you sadly can't setup different players for different corners. Really your inside forwards would be perfect for this.

Set it up with my 2nd season with Reading, Vietto just got injured so looks like i'll be using Le Fondre
 
Which player is the corner taker? And what's his role?
 
actually works well scores numerous goals from corners and my left back as lots of assists and generally gets a match rating of about 8-9 most games haha not a bug in my opinion as a few times there defender as run out to tackle my st forcing him to pass still results in a very good scoring opportunity
 
Yeah, the thing is match AI never covering the short corner, even after your players intrude into the box. So they're just marking a narrow strip, maybe the width of the goal. Take a look at the red guys in the screenshot in the first post, they don't spread out until you literally lead the ball into the 6-yard box.

However, the same sh*t applies to your own defense, so setting up your defensive corners properly is really important now.
 
Why my striker (short option) doesn't always shot but sometimes he passes to other player? Can I force him to shot?
 
if it falls to his weaker foot me might not want to shoot
