Postion Training

First of sorry if this is in the wrong area. (Got a bollocking last time so thort id say it first)

Anyway my question:

When u assign a player to train for a new positon ( In my case Mark Bentley to train as centre back) How long does it usualy take until they are comfatable playing there. He's already got an amber colour for that position but i was wondering how long it takes til that becomes dark green?

depending on the versatility for the player it varys, i seem to think its a couple of months maybe less maybe more, again depending on the players versatitly and how he currently plays in that possition, but if you play the player in the position you want him to learn he will accomplish it quicker

For me it has taken up to a year. As xJosHx said it all depends on the players hidden versatility stat.

I think for him it may take a while to get him to be a decent Centre Half.

yeh some players achieve their new position really quick and some extremely slow, the fastest for me was ivan rakitic from shalke as i trained him to the right, but he is fairly versatile and is either footed so it wasntr a problem, only taking him 2-3 months

thats why im not the biggest fan of this idea, unless it is a player for backup, i prefer just to sign a proven player in the required position

All depends on the player and the coaches,it takes ages to get them bright green.

If he's just for back-up I don't think you'll need to train (do it anyway though), 'cause if I remember he is already OK as a CB? Even if they are on yellow they're OK as a "stand-in".

There is an AM/FC called Sacha Rosler that plays for 1860 Munchen - German 2nd Division. If you train him as a MC, it takes only one game for him to become acomplished.
