pre-season tournaments

everytime i try to set up a league or tournament during preseason i keep getting sodded off by the other teams.i check their fixtures etc to see if they are available and still get ignored does anyone else find these hard to set up??if anyone can give me any tips let me know.also does anyone ever get invited into tourneys from the computer??

Yesterday I spent 30 minutes+ trying to set up 3 friendly tournaments and invited just about every English team and managed to get about 4 of the 9 slots filled. So, I went back to some of the bigger teams and offered between £10k and £20k to them for an appearance. Because of this, I managed to get Aston Villa, Portsmouth, and Leeds to come. Offering a small amount would be considered good business because you can earn £250k+ for each tournament for an outlay of Max £60k. As to your second question, when I was playing Man Utd, I used to get offers to compete in friendly cups but never Leagues. Hope this helps
