I know a lot of people have been talking about the transfer bug but for me the exact opposite seems to be the case. I can't seem to bring players in for love nor money on my Liverpool save!

I need 2 midfielders & I've tried bringing in M'villa, Hamsik, Sahin & Hazard, all were valued around about the 6 million mark so I started off the bidding at about 7.5 - 8 with a couple of add ons (10-20% of resale, arranging friendlies, offering players they might be interested in etc) & nothing, I kept the bids creeping up, trying to offer them all what I thought were good deals. Anyway, long story short I ended up putting in bids well over 15 million for each of them (for hazard I went all out & put together a package worth atleast 30 million including add ons/bonuses) & none of my bids were accepted, the closest I got was Lille saying I could have Hazard for 30 million.

Am I doing something wrong or have I just been unlucky? Anyone got any tips? I don't much fancy going a whole season with an ageing Gerrard & Meireles as my only creative centre mids.

Hamsik came to United for 22 million on my save.

If you want to get those kind of players for 7.5-8 million, you are going to have to exploit the transfer bug.

Make an offer for a player.
Then praise that player in the media and say you want to sign him.
Offer will be rejected.
Continue to praise.
Wait.
Wait some more, sometimes 3 weeks or more.
The club may now offer you the player at a reduced price as he has become unsettled/unhappy.
Or you can make a fresh bid if they dont offer him. If he has become unsettled/unhappy they usually accept a lower bid than they were after before.

Nah I'm not gonna do that, just wanna go about it the normal way. Obviously the calibre of players I'm going after should theoretically be worth that kind of price (12 million atleast apart from m'villa) but why have a 'value' of 6 million if there's not a hope in **** that you're going to get them for their valluation? may aswell just double their valuation? I think I'm gonna go after Defour & maybe put in a sneaky bid for Barry Bannan

A players value and his sale price are very different. If he is on a long term contract and/or in great form, it will cost a lot more than his value to get him (discounting the transfer bug of course)

That makes a lot of sense, I'm new to FM so still getting used to thinking like a manager if you will. Thanks dude.
