Problem with contract extention for more than 3 yeras

Hi guys,

Has anyone had problems with extending the players' contracts for more than 3 years? I?m playing in 2019 and many of my players? contracts are expiring but the longest term which I can offer them during the negotiations is 3 years. The game simply doesn?t allow me to extend with more.
It is the same like with the salaries ? you cannot offer more than the maximum salary allowed. This is understandable and it varies depending on the financial situation of the club and all the other salaries.
Now I have to negotiate every 2 years. The demands of the players rise and the club has to pay a lot higher wages.
I never had such problem with FM12.
Please tell me how I can solve this.

not sure if this helps but i notice some younger players never sign a 5 year deal they only want 3 but your saying the game wont let you so can't help with that, the way to keep wages down is try and get them to sack the agents using private chat even if they say no keep pushing the issue when you can, players are not as greedy and you save the agent fee also normally takes a few years as a good manager to make them sack the agents but it helps in the long run.

Thanks for the agents tip. I will try it.
When I started the game in 2014 I had no problems signing 5 years contracts.
I think somewhere in year 3 I could no longer extend with more than 3 years.
May be it is something to do with my contract as coach - it is also for 3 years.
