Blackpool FC are in England's second tier of English football (The Championship).
They have been a member of the football league for 100 years.
The Seasiders, also nicknamed the tangerines had their best spell of success in the late 1940's and 1950's, winning the FA Cup and getting to the final on two other occasions. They also finished runner-up in what was then called the Divison 1 (Now called the Premier League).
They maintain a rivalry with Bolton, Preston and Burnley.

The now former Blackpool manager had to leave the Seasiders after he was advised to book into a mental home by his friends and family.
He had this to say:
'I think Blackpool are a blummin' good club and I hope whoever replaces me can do well and get em to the Premier Division. It's not the last of Ian Holloway yet though, I'll be back!'.

Ben Worthington: New Blackpool manager!
Shock rings around Bloomfield road as Blackpool have named Ben Worthington as their new man in charge. Multiple betting offices around the country stopped taking bets on Phil Brown last night but Blackpool fans woke up to the sound of Ben Worthington's scouse voice in an interview with SkySports. The 30 year old Liverpudlian who has been working with Prescot Cables has signed a 1 year contract with Blackpool. He inherits a decent squad, expected to fight off relegation and possibly push up to the middle of the table but will the appointment of Ben Worthington ruin Blackpool's chances of avoiding relegation?
The new mans interview with SkySports:
Q: You are very inexperienced within the football management world Ben, do you really think you can bring success to Blackpool?
A: Yes, I have very high expectations of myself and my team and I think we should be aiming to grab at least a mid-table position in the league this year.
Q: Will you be looking to overhaul the squad or do you want to try and keep the current players together?
A: Simple really. The players who are not good enough or do not fit into my plans will leave, replacements will be brought in accordingly.
Q: Why do you think you were selected as manager over experienced, established men in the football world?
A: I an epic CV playing Football Manager series and I think my ability to think outside of the box did me some good in my interview for the position. Also I have been working with managers at Prescot Cables for a few years and they held me in high regard.
