Proven tactics for mid table BPL (west ham, Newcastle, everton)?

It works good with Everton, I won the Premier League using this tactics. Of course Everton is a pretty strong team and well-suited to this tactics so it could be more difficult to achieve such a result with West Ham or Newcastle.
