Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow steps down from his post following the sale of the club to New England Sports Ventures.

Think it's clear that the current board were just hanging on until they found a suitable buyer. Broughton has openly said he'll be moving on too.

Hope Ian Ayres stays. Man's a credit to the club.

As for Purslow, want to thank him for voting as he did on the board re. ownership but still very angry with him for his role in undermining Rafa.

Hope a football man is appointed, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, a sports specialist, & not just a 'suit', would be welcome. Thats what NESV are, no ?

I was thinking of something good to put with this, But.. I couldn't think of anything. So

I feel the exact same towards him.

Christian Purslow is to stand down as Managing Director of Liverpool Football Club with immediate effect.
He will remain as a non-executive director and an advisor to New England Sports Ventures.
NESV Chairman Tom Werner said: "We are delighted Christian has accepted our offer to help us and the club, given his great experience and love for Liverpool FC.
"We will now begin a global search process for a Chief Executive Officer."
Purslow added: "I came to LFC to lead the club through a sale process to get the best overall deal including, vitally, the removal of the debt. I am immensely proud of what we have all achieved.
"I now look forrward to assisting the owners in any way I can at this exciting time as they drive the club forward to a bright future."
