I play a standard 4-4-2 with two full backs, whose duty depend on the strategy but since I use in most cases counter as a strategy they are set to support. The RM and LM are set to wingers, and to attack. I play with one deep lying forward (who is set as a target man, and who is tall and strong) and one advanced forward (who is really quick). My question is.. which one is better: to set my CMs as both advanced playmakers (they are both creative.. and can play as playmakers), or substitute one of them with another CM who can play a box to box midfielder?

one of your cm needs to be defensive or you are going to get shredded

You mean to set his role to central midd and then "deffensive"?
But in that way I can't make use of two really good playmakers... they are for sure the best playmakers in the league

yes.

it doesnt matter if your two cental mids are iniesta and xavi, if one of them cant defend, you'll get beat by any decent team.
