CHAMPIONS OF SPAIN IN 1999-2000
THEY WERE THEN RUNNERS UP THE FOLLOWING TWO SEASONS AND WON THE COPA DEL REY 1N 2001 AND THE SPANISH SUPER COPA IN 2002 . . . . . ​

FONDLY KNOWN AS 'Los Blanquiazules', HERE IS THE STORY FROM 2010. . . .​

I TOOK OVER AS MANAGER AND IMMEDIATLY DECIDED I WANTED TO TRAIN UP MY YOUTH PLAYERS, AND PUT THE EMPHASISE ON YOUNG SPANISH PLAYERS. I MADE THE AQUISITIONS OF SERGIO CANALES, JAVI MARTINEZ, CARLOS MARCHENA AND ANDREA BARZAGLI ALL ON 48 MONTHS PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS, THIS NOW MEANT THAT I NEEDED TO QUALIFY FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOR THE REVENUE STREAMS, WE PLAYED A 4-5-1 WITH CANALES AND RIKI ON THE FLANKS AND YOUNG PROTEGE ADRIAN UP TOP ON HIS OWN.​

THE TRANSFERS BLENDED WELL WITH MY GOOD PLAYERS IN SQUAD, RIKI, FELIPE, MANUEL PABLO, ADRIEN,GUARDADO,
AND JUAN CARLOS VALERON, ALL STARED AND IN JANUARY WE SAT 4TH IN THE LEAGUE. WE SOLD ANDRES GUARDADO AS FINANCES WERE TIGHT TO MANCHESTER CITY FOR £13.5M AND SIGNED MIGUEL VELOSO AGAIN OVER 48 MONTHS, THIS BALANCED THE SIDE BEAUTIFULLY WITH VELOSO PLAYING ANCHOR-MAN AND WE FINISHED THE SEASON IN 3RD PLACE​

and lost to Man Utd in the Semi's of the Champions League in 2002/2003 season where Beckham scored that awesome goal!

good luck man, i did a Deportivo save before my last one, 5 seasons! was a lot of hard work, the club has massive debt, i got them back to their glory days, 1st season finished 6th (Europa) then 5th, 4th 2nd and 2nd in BBVA, got the Semi's of both European Competitions and the final of Copa Del Rey on two seperate occasions, failed to win anything though, but glad to get them back up there!

Do not sell Adrian!! whatever you do! i will be following this one... :D

season two.......

i sold off all the poor squad players and it generated alot of money, even still i was given just £21m to rebuiled a now decimated squad, i arranged friendlies against all the big sides in europe to again generate finances in total i played 23 friendlies on average this made about £600k per game, this would be important in future!!!

i identified sergio asenjo as my main target but was thwatrted as he was happy at atletico madrid, so i made a bid of £28m over 48 months for akinfeev, at it was accepted and he became my club record signing, i still had £14m available so i signed joao moutinho and miguel torres, and young midfielder marco verrati.

we were again strong at the back, but not scoring many goals, i felt that if we could get partner for adrian we could improve, we qualified as runner up from our champions league group, it was a tough one with celtic, man utd and lyon, we were then paired with 'moneybags' manchester city in the knockout phase.after the draw we recieved a financial boost (due to my friendlies!!!) and were given £13.5m due to improved finances!!
As january approached we were in a comfortable champions league berth in the league, 7 points ahead of a.madrid and the chasing pack in fourth!!

january we signed hulk from porto for £23.5m over 48 months,and angel di maria for 14m over 48 months!!

we again continued to punch above our weight in the league, admittedly this was mainly down to my tactical moves, we were great away from home, we went 'overload' and direct passing, at the start of games, got ahead, and played on the 'counter', then if under pressure late on 'defensive', 'often' timewasting, 'slow' tempo and 'narrow' width, this was very effective and we again finished a comendable 3rd place.

in the champions league, we beat man city 4-3 on aggregate, loosing 2-1 at eastlands, but winning 3-1 at riazor, we then beat juventus in the quarter finals, on away goals loosing 2-1 at riazor but winning 3-2 in turin, before being knocked out by man utd in the semis 0-0 at old trafford but were beaten 4-2 at riazor.

Personally I dislike DepLaCor, as they wipe-out AC Milan from UCL 2003/2004,
but I support you to bring the UCL trophy to Riazor in your FM world...
 
Keep it up! And keep an eye on Asenjo, 3-4 seasons in he usually isn't that happy at Atletico, I got him for 2M.
 
season three. . . . . . (then we will be in the present!!!)

i again took the long, ardious process of organising a multitude of friendlies, after like 50-60 were rejected, i had again around 20 stella fixtures to lure the euro's from my fans wallets and into the coffers.

we were awarded a large figure for our success in the champions league and we were given £28m to spend by the board.

i identified the the ageing defence as an issue, i signed fazio from sevilla for £21m over 48 months, and zapata from udinese for £16m over 48m, i sold marchena to almeria for £6m, and loaned verrati for the season to almeria for £2m, juan carlos valeron left for stamford bridge for £2.5m and ze castro left for villareal for £4.5m, this left me with 18.5m available so i offered £29m for alexis sanchez from udinese and they negotiated, finnaly getting him for £33m over 48 months, i had 6m still left but i saved it!!

we were in a 4 way battle all season for the title, barcelona, valencia, depor and the holders for the last two seasons, real madrid. it was extremely tight but with one game to go deportivo la coruna were crowned champions of spain, we finished on 90 points, real madrid 86 points, valencia and barcelona both on 85 pts, great acheivement for us and i will upload screenshots later.

in the champions league, we qualified from group stage as winners, we then beat shahktar over two legs 8-1, in quarter finals we beat barcelona 4-2 on agg, 1-0 win at nou camp and 3-1 at riazor, in the semi finals we beat valencia, to set up a final with inter milan and jose mourinho.

INTER MILAN 3-2 DEPORTIVO

A THRILLING ENCOUNTER SAW INTER TRIUMPH, INTER TOOK THE LEAD WHEN AN UNMARKED THIAGO MOTTA HEADED HOME EARLY ON, BEFOR DEPOR EQUALISED BEFORE HALF TIME THRU FAZIO, ADRIAN STRUCK EARLY IN THE SECOND HALF FROM CLOSE RANGE, MOTTA THEN STOLE THE SHOW TO BECOME A HERO, A LOW DRIVE FROM THE EDGE OF THE BOX AND ANOTHER HEADER WITH 10 MINS TO GO STOLE THE GLORY

wow, thats a lot of money for Deportivo 1st season there, no matter who you can sell! i struggled to sell Mista and Riki (pretty decent players) what patch you using? do they become a lot more well off in a later patch? i played mine on 10.1.

i could barely even get free agents in 1st season, the amount you paid for Hulk is what i spent in like 3 seasons :D if everything is over 48 months, Deportivo will go into admin! i was paying close on 700k a month for the loan repayments for 3 years i think it was, you are going to have to generate at least 2 million a month to cover your debts (thats excluding wages) from all the 48 month repayments!

but well done anyway, some good signings there mate, good luck :D
 
i got a change of board at end of first season, they upgraded facillities too, some english consortium, and i promised to win league!!!, freindlies are the key mate, brings in loads of money, im on patch 10.2, the finances on 09 were very bad but i think they are alot better, i didnt have any probs getting rid of squad players, alot went for between 2 and 5 million so that helps, mista and bodipo went, i used my u19 at times too

transfer dealings saw me bring in Moussa Sissoko, javier saviola(bosman), cor seedorf

i am currently 14 games into my title defence and my side have been quite astonishingly good, i have won the opening 14 league games!!!

u know with all them pre season friendlies dosent your squad get tired ???? great story easier to read the way u set it out im following good luck
 
they tend to tire a bit around december time, but the games dont come as thick and fast in la liga but i have just dropped my first 2 points with a draw at the bernebeu 1-1
 
some times i do, i tend to go defensive in the last half hour of tight games and take the pace out the game, this helps saving energy, and nearly always make all three subs
