Hey guys sorry I started a story about Rangers yesterday but there was a problem with the Laptop and so I couldn't do certain things on FMbase, I have got it sorted and I am now starting this new Rangers FC story would someone please close the previous thread I started. Thank you anyway....:P

Walter Smith resigns as Rangers manager.
Walter Smith has announced that he is stepping down as Rangers manager with immediate effect, He has said it is not the result of a disagreement but he felt he had done well and had the stay he was looking for in his second spell with the club. Extract from official Rangers FC statement on the resignation. : Alastair Johnston Rangers Chairman : "After some talks with Walter today and yesterday we have all came to a mutual conclusion that Walter shall be leaving the club, Walter is happy and understands that he will be leaving without a compensation deal (pay package). As he was working on a gentleman's Rolling contract anyway". " All the best to Walter in the future but I'm sure you will still see Walter around the club. A statement will be issued in the coming 48 hours as to a new appointment and the backroom staff. Thank you".

Rangers FC official statement from press conference held at Murray park....
"We have a few candidates for the vacant Rangers job and have held a few talks already no names will be given so please do not ask at the end, we may have appointed a new manger by the end of the evening,we....."

Sky Sports News report: "So lets have a look at some of the possible candidates being touted for the job..."
1. Ally McCoist- Rangers fan hero, has said he would be interested in the job one day, Is a life long fan and very close to the club and he is currently working for Rangers as assistant manager.
2. Kenny Mcdowall- Rangers fan, experienced coach been working alongside McCoist and Smith for a few years, has worked on the other side of Rangers as a youth coach at Celtic and currently First team coach at Rangers.
3. Aj Burnett- Rangers supporter, Worked for Rangers previously as a coach within the club was regarded quite highly left the club around a year ago, Apparently interested.
4. Billy Davies- Would probaly be more understanding in terms of negotiating with money as he is a supporter of the club, Has stated interest previously would most likely go down well with the fans as he has been succesfull before.
Who will get it stay with us here on Sky Sports News.... Now Transfer news...."

Rangers appoint AJ Burnett as manager.

Rangers today announced that AJ Burnett would be the man to take over in Walter Smith's positon it wasn't a case of fending off opposition for the job as Rangers said they approached AJ Burnett before anybody else that they had on their shortlist.

Media: You stand here today unveiled as the new Rangers manager as a fan, surely this must be a dream come true?
AJ Burnett: Yes I'm delighted I have got the job I had the feeling because of the situation we are in that the shortlist for the position wouldn't be to big, but yeah it's awesome!
Media: What is your general approach to the tactical side of the game?
AJ Burnett: Well I think you can go to clubs with the same technique and style but at some team and with the players you've got you have to adjust, so I will be looking to mix and match I can't really say the tactics will change with players leaving with players coming in and with different opposition so it's hard to say.

My opinion: We played good in the first half especially early one and we got the early goal, For the first 15 minutes of the second half we carried on in the same way and went 2-0 up, but from that goal the remaining 30 minutes were tough and we were under alot of pressure they got their equaliser late on.

Forgot to say a few things...

Transfer out:
K.Thomson is going to Sunderland for 1.9M on the 1.7.10 I negotiated the date of the transfer so I could use K. Thomson this year if needed.

ALSO PRE-SEASON SUMMARY:
Not amazing results but we were solid and Unbeaten so we done something right....
