I have been recently reading articles regarding both the definition of player attributes and the way in which SI goes about allocating scores. I am growing concerned at the realism of these given attributes having also spent a considerable time looking at 'metrics'. My point really is that surely with the data now available on players movements etc SI could be allocate attributes that are far more informed.

Thoughts?

question: how do you think SI allocates attributes? and what articles have you been reading?

Mate if you compare SI attributes to fifa attributes it?s shocking how good SI?s are. I mean dont get me started on how awful Fifa attributes are given, PES ones are way worse anyways. The thing about SI is that on Football Manager mental stats play a big role, which lets be honest, is one of the most difficult stats to give to a player. I think that in an overall view the attributes are well given. Obviously players like Ramsey or Sturridge are underrated, because the game date is fullfilled about 4 months before release, no way to predict average players to go on form. But the stats given to youngsters are pretty hard to do accurately. I support Newells Old boys a nice top half Argentinian side that in the past 5 seasons has always finished top 4, the data for the newell?s reserve squad and the youngsters is incredibly accurate considering is not a team on the top flight of world football.
Anywyas I?d like to know your opinion. Im not saying the stats are perfect but they are kinda great.

I do agree, SI do an excellent job. Far superior to FIFA and the like, I think my point really is could SI be more accurate. Opta collects a ridiculous amount of data and as I'm aware they don't collaborate.

Still not pointed out what articles you've been reading to come to this conclusion and also do you have any examples of where SI have been as inaccurate as you believe?

I also have this question

I've had a few friends whos in the game. When they looked at their stats they were surprised it highlighted all their strengths and flaws pretty accurately. Tho their stats were stupid low. ;)
The size and accuracy of the database is the most impressive thing about FM.
