Rebuilding a Country through Football

The great country that furthered the world in so many ways is now in serious financial trouble, recently bailed out for the third time in five years. Greece is in the worst economic state in its history. With the country in disarray and many people losing faith in there is only one way that the country can be united, brought together and that way is football. People of all different backgrounds are brought together through football; win, lose or draw. Friends are made, people united there is no better way to come together than through the universal language of football.
In 2004 came Greece’s greatest achievement today, winning the European Championships. However the glory days of that tournament are over and the country is in a dark place. The aim of this save is to save the country financially through football by only using Greek players at a club level and also leading the national team to European Championship glory. In Angelos' first press conference he stated that he has a dream that is to produce a Champions League winning side with a full Greek side. This comment prompted some laughs from the media however he has a clear aim and seems determined to fulfil it, no matter how long it takes. His first step is obviously to get into the Superleague, which some are saying may take at least 3 seasons, but Angelos seems to have faith in himself and his own management abilities.
