Boro actually sold Downing to Villa for less money than Tottenham offered because they got so sick of Redknapp unsettling him, they refused to do any deal with Spurs. Redknapp is always being done for something. no matter where he is or who he is after. Then again, unsettling the player is the first step to signing him.

He did it alot at Pompey. I remember he wanted Muntari and that when Kanu had a charity match Redknapp insisted Kanu invited Muntari and then he spoke to him after the game, he simply loves to unsettle players.
