Reducing space between defenders and attackers.

Hi everyone, I am a long time player of FM, but in FM14 i had this problem from the very begining. I could never quite accomplish a compact formation which had very little space between defenders and atackers. I mean, I did acomplish this when i played 5-3-2 (2 WB ), but it was just by overloading the midfield, not from tactical instructions.

What i do want, is to know how can i have a compact team that presses high up the pitch in a 4-2-3-1 (deep) or in a classic 4-4-2. I hate the current tactical system with no sliders, maybe thats why i cant make this thing work.

it all depends the roles and duties you set, as for instructions a Much Higher Defensive Line and Play Narrow helps.
