Can anybody tell me how to criticise the ref either during or after a match??

You can only criticise referees in a post match conference if there were some dubious decisions made during the match like awarding a dubious penalty etc. Most of the time it won't get you anywhere and will likely earn you a touchline ban if you do it too much.

You can get warnings, fines and touchline bans from complaining but only if there is something that the press asks you about. There is 0 bonuses to doing it other than making your board annoyed, if you are right the FA will "remain silent" but you won't get anywhere.

Best just to ignore it and get on with it.

well i have to say i miss the fifa99 where you could kick the referee-that was an inovative thought
