I am with Bolton in my 3rd season. I was scouting for a complete forward and somehow this regen found his way into the list. I immediately bought him for 1 million pounds plus add-ons 1 year ago.

I always play a 4-5-1. I put him on Dunc's striker training schedule. Not much improvement. Then I took a good look at his stats and put him on Dunc's att mid schedule in order to improve his horrendous first touch, dribbling and technique. Did not work. Got him tutored by Lassad ( Deportivo ). Not much improvement. No I am getting him tutored by Stuani ( Reggina )

But he was banging in the goals with the reserve teams. So I decided to throw him into the deep end. I am playing in the Europa League. Whenever I get a match up that I am sure to lose ( like Porto, Sevilla, etc...) I started him up front, with a deep lying forward attack role. Did some good stuff, but keeps ******** up the few chances that he gets. So last season he started 9 matches and made 5 sub appearances and scored zero goals. Bizarrely I have not lost a single match that he had an appearance in. Somehow I hang on to 0-0 draws with all the opposition strikers also ******** up. Perhaps they felt pity for Walker and decided not to score...

Over the summer, to my shock, he got an international call up. Now 3 months into the season, he has 6 Scotland caps and a goal to boot. AND I CAN'T GET HIM TO DO ANYTHING !!!!

Please help by answering the following questions:

1. What role best fits him ?
2. Can he play as a lone striker ?
3. Any PPMs to help him score ?

I can help with #3 - train him to blast the ball into the back of then net, because he has low technique.

You could try setting his dribbling to rarely as well but I'm afraid I've never played 1 up top so I can't comment on #2. As for #1 I don't really know, that poor first touch and dribbling means he may not be a great poacher, yet I would steer clear of striker-support roles due to low passing ability too. Advanced forward maybe? But DL-attack as you use might be best... Wait for the experts!

Thank you boro141. I have noticed that he scores most of the reserve team goals by smashing them in. I shall start training him to do that...

Which role is he playing as a striker? I think put him as a poacher and put an advanced forward or target man beside him so he feels more comfortable and start to score week in week out. I was had a regen at Liverpool and at 16 he scored lots of goals! I did the same thing with either Tevez or Suarez beside him and I think he got me 18 goals in his first season

i think he can play as a lone striker, but in his laters stages, like near 23yrs.

the attacking stats are amazing, so make use of them and play him regularly.

You could try the role Deep-Lying Forward -Attack just wait for him to settle in that role :)

@ Chapman7: He played as DLF attack in a 4-5-1 against Sevilla and got the man of the match. Avg Rat: 7.9. But no goals unfortunately. Cahill scored from his corner. And at the other end Cahill played a lazy back pass, helping Luis Fabiano onto a sitter. 1-1.

I love using 4-5-1, you might want to wait untill he's older before playing him upfront by himself.
His poor strength and jumping mean you'll need to feed him through balls along the ground and get him into space.

Keep playing him in europa and games where you expect to dominate, bring him on for the last 30minutes in games where you're winning easy.

@ TDJ07: Thanks. Till now whenever he played, I ticked the target man option and selected ' to feet' ... I shall now change it to ' run onto ball '
