Reinghard Schmitz is the latest in a long line of German coaches to abscond from his position on the Bayern Munich coaching staff to try their hand at the big job. The 25 year old developed an impressive reputation during his time at the Allianz Arena and rumour has it that a German First division job may be in the pipeline for the man affectionately dubbed 'Der Fuhrer' by the Bayern youth teams. It is widely believed that a meeting with Borussia MonchenGladbach is scheduled for the coming days.
Reinghard Schmitz was today announced as the new manager of Borussia Monchengaldbach, the German was unveiled to the public at a press conference during which club president Rolf Konigs presented Schmitz with a twelve month contract worth a reported ?18,250 per week. Konigs had the following remarks; ' We are pleased to announce the appointment of one of Germany' brightest and most exciting coaches. Mr Schmitz comes to the club with a glowing reputation and it is imperative that the club, players and fans get behind our new manager whist he puts in to place his practices'.
It will be Reinghard' first attempt at club management and many are keen to see exactly how the young man will go about gaining the respect of a dressing room of players his senior.
