i was just wondering if in fm12 u can sign retired platers as coaches??

only if they are available. some players retire and are just gone from the game

well u can check if he want to be a coach. go his profile and click in 'information'. i think in the long term plans section, it will say what he wants to be, a coach, a manager, scout, etc, or just retire from the game

If it's not there then he probably hasn't decided yet. Keep checking up on what his long-term plans are.
